Steps for ActivationThe State Emergency Alert System (EAS) will broadcast information in partnership with Maine’s Law Enforcement Agencies, Broadcast Radio and TV Stations, Cable Systems and now the Maine State Lottery with the assistance of over 1,400 retailers.
Lottery Retail Agents will receive a terminal message similar to the message that will appear on television, radio and turnpike message boards.
Retailers will be able to print and post copies of the Alert message in their store and where available, alert information will also be displayed on the Electronic Lottery Advertising Display units.
Criteria for ActivationThe key to the AMBER Alert plan is to broadcast information by interrupting area radio and television stations to broadcast information when:

1. A child 15 years of age or younger has been abducted
2. That child is believed to be in danger of serious harm or death.
